In January, HarperCollins released “Spirit Rising: My Life, My Music,” a memoir by Grammy® Award-winning singer Angélique Kidjo and co-authored by Rachel Wenrick, associate teaching professor of English at Drexel. While it was a highly collaborative project between the writer and singer, Wenrick is the first to say they couldn’t have done it without the help of Drexel psychology student and Humanities Fellow, Khushbu Patel ’14.

Judges Wanted for the Greater Philadelphia SeaPerch Challenge
The College of Engineering is looking for alumni volunteers to judge the 2014 Greater Philadelphia SeaPerch Challenge, an underwater robotics competition for teams of middle and high school students. The competition will be held on Friday, April 25, for middle schools and Saturday, April 26, for high schools. Judges will score the teams based on four categories: Vehicle Performance, Oral Presentation, Notebook Submission, and Team Spirit & Sportsmanship. >>
Alumni are also invited to Drexel's annual charity golf tournament, in support of the Greater Philadelphia SeaPerch Challenge. The tournament will be held on Friday, May 30, in Blackwood, N.J. >>

Register Today for Alumni Weekend 2014
This year, members of the Classes of 1964 and 1989 will celebrate their 50- and 25-year reunions, and a number of campus groups will come back for special get-togethers. Saturday will kick off with the 22nd Annual University City 5K Run and our Alumni Scavenger Hunt. Plus, several of Drexel's colleges and schools will open their doors for tours, open houses and meet-and-greets.
Closing out the weekend, we’ll take over the Main Building for a brand new event called Drexel After Dark! The Great Court will have a DJ and dance floor, snacks, drinks, and café style seating. The second floor will feature food and beverage stations and a fun photo booth, and the A.J. Drexel Picture Gallery on the third floor will be turned into a piano bar with wine and cheese pairings. And finally, the fourth floor will be transformed into a night club with music and video games.

Drexel is excited to announce the unveiling of the 2013 Philanthropy Journal website. The site details the year's philanthropy efforts and recognizes those donors and volunteers who supported Drexel from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013. Signifying a successful end to Dream It. Do It. Drexel. A Campaign for the Future, this year’s site is entitled, We Celebrate.
