Alumni Association Board Nominations

The Alumni Association is currently accepting nominations of qualified alumni interested in running for election to the Board of Governors. The Board oversees and advocates the Alumni Association’s efforts to engage, advance and support Drexel University, its alumni and students through a variety of programs, services and awards.

Members of the Board of Governors are elected based upon their demonstrated leadership and service to their chosen profession, Drexel University, the Alumni Association and the community. Candidates should have a strong belief and commitment to the mission of the Alumni Association. To that end, the Alumni Association is actively seeking a representative group of qualified nominees who meet this criteria and who are eager and willing to commit their time and share their wisdom in representing the alumni constituency.

Board members are expected to accept a leadership and participatory role by working closely with the Office of Alumni Relations and the Alumni Association to further its mission and its strategic initiatives. Board participation requires a time commitment at quarterly meetings of the full board, quarterly committee meetings, and a presence at campus and alumni events. Elected Directors serve four-year terms beginning July 1, 2012. The call for nominations concludes at 5 p.m. on March 30, 2012 and elections will be held during the month of June. Mechanical Engineering

In March 2011, Matt and his classmates from Drexel's space systems lab received a grant from the Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium to conduct research on the Weightless Wonder – NASA's 727 aircraft that flies a series of rollercoaster-like dips and climbs, to produce periods of zero gravity.

"I got the call that we got the grant while I was in Drexel's learning center," said Matt. "I was so excited I almost jumped on the table." More
