CME Program

CME Program – Perspectives in Obesity: A National Epidemic
8 to 11 a.m. | Geary Auditorium, Hahnemann University Hospital

Take advantage of this 2.25 credit CME program presented by faculty members that addresses the number one health threat facing America. Obesity currently results in an estimated 400,000 deaths annually and costs nearly $122.9 billion, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dean Richard V. Homan, M.D., will discuss the future of the College, its strategic plan and the ongoing collaboration throughout the university. Vice Dean Barbara Schindler, M.D., WMC '70, will address the topic of "Professionalism in Medical Education," while Alumni Association President Donald A. Girard, M.D., HU '82, will report on the work of the Alumni Association this past year and outline exciting new plans for the future.

The National Constitution Center in historic Philadelphia is America's most interactive history museum. Your visit begins with a 2:30 p.m. entrance into the award-winning live presentation of "Freedom Rising." Tickets also include entrance into the latest exhibit, "Baseball As America," a celebration of America's romance with its national pastime. Join fellow medical school alumni and classmates for a Pre-gala Reception in the Anthony J. Drexel Picture Gallery. This beautiful gallery and historic venue is directly across the street from the Creese Student Center on Drexel's main campus. Complimentary parking is conveniently located in the "F" lot at 31st and Ludlow Streets.

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. | Union League of Philadelphia, 140 South Broad Street

Enjoy brunch with former and current faculty and staff and learn of the work that is ongoing at the college. Brunch is held in Philadelphia's jewel of Broad Street, the Union League. Founded in 1862, the Union League has hosted U.S. presidents, heads of state, industrialists, entertainers, and visiting dignitaries from around the globe.

Business casual attire is required. Jeans, denim wear, athletic attire, t-shirts, shorts, baseball caps, sneakers or tattered clothes are not permitted.
