"The Dragon's Guide to Success" Philadelphia Networking Dinner
On Thursday, May 18, the Alumni Club of Philadelphia is pleased to offer alumni "An Inside Look at Today's Job Market" and an opportunity to network over dinner. Join us at 5:30 p.m. at McCormick and Schmick's, where we will welcome guest speakers Sally Stetson, MS, AWCoMAD '83 of Salveson Stetson Group, Inc.; Peter Franks, associate vice provost and executive director of Drexel University’s Steinbright Career Development Center; and Kevin Cashin, University Recruitment Account Manager for Glaxo Smith Kline. Drexel Teams Up with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
President Papadakis and more than 30 faculty and staff members joined forces with ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition when the show came to Northeast Philadelphia to build a new house for the Py family.

William and Carole Py are raising their grandchildren, Jose, Samantha and William Rosario, whose parents died in the late 1990s. President Papadakis surprised the children with three full scholarships to Drexel.

The show will air on ABC on April 30, at 7 p.m.

CNN and President Bill Clinton Visit Drexel to Promote “Fit Nation”
President Bill Clinton and CNN senior medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta visited the University City Main Campus on March 23 as part of Gupta’s “Fit Nation” initiative. “Fit Nation” is a nationwide initiative to encourage Americans to adopt healthier lifestyles and combat obesity. Drexel students and members of the community discussed healthy living, developed local community action plans, took self assessments and engaged in open dialogue with Gupta, Clinton and other guest panelists, including School of Public Health Dean Marla Gold; Gwen Foster, health and fitness czar for Philadelphia; and Dr. Timothy Gardner of the American Heart Association. Drexel University Basketball Camp
The Drexel University All-Star Basketball Camp with Bruiser Flint (left) will offer two week long sessions this summer at the John A. Daskalakis Athletic Center.  The first session will be held the week of June 26th and session two will begin on July 31.  Camp is open to boys and girls ages 7-17 and will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  A special discounted rate is available to children of Drexel University employees and alumni.  For more information or to register, call the men’s basketball office at 215.895.1418 or e-mail Mike Babul at mb436@drexel.edu

Dragonfire Nominated for EPpy Award
Dragonfire, Drexel's fully interactive multimedia online magazine published every two weeks by the Pennoni Honors College under the direction of Editor-in-Chief Amy Webb, was nominated for a 2006 EPpy Award for "Best Use of Rich Media in an Internet Service Under One Million Unique Monthly Visitors.

EPpy Awards honor Internet sites that are affiliated with the media industry, and especially newspapers, television networks and affiliates, radio networks, syndicated shows, local radio stations, and magazines. EPpys are presented by Editor & Publisher and Media Week and are voted on by the nation's top journalism professionals. The awards will be presented at the Interactive Media Conference and Trade Show to be held May 18-19, 2006 in Las Vegas. More.

Back on Campus Continues
The fifth and sixth episodes of Back on Campus, the ABC Family reality series that was filmed on the University City Main Campus, will air on Saturday, April 22, 2006 from 10-11 p.m. on the ABC Family channel. Back on Campus follows four Drexel undergraduates and their parents, who had the opportunity to experience college life at the University with their children. Spring Events Hosted by Women in Business
Join Women in Business from the LeBow College of Business for a series of events for interested members of the Drexel community. Events are scheduled in the Anthony J. Drexel Picture Gallery located in the Main Building.

Drexel Student Second Fastest American Woman

Running in just her second career marathon, graduate student Michelle Lilienthal (left) completed the Boston Marathon in 2 hours, 40 minutes and 23 seconds. She was the 16th overall female finisher and second among American women. Her time qualified her for the U.S. Olympic Trials. Lilienthal is working toward a graduate degree in higher education at Drexel. She also works in the Drexel Athletic Department as an assistant in the Sports Information Office. Lilienthal is originally from Iowa City, Iowa.

Blue & Gold Days Alumni Weekend
Join us on May 5 -7 as we bring you back to campus, Philly style. See a 65 million year old crocodile and participate in many new and exciting events including the all alumni Wine Pairing Dinner, Golden Dragon Society Luncheon, Family Picnic with the Philadelphia Zoo, Couples Champagne Reception, Sports Fans Rally, Interfraternity 75th Anniversary Reception, and Gala Dinner featuring The Fabulous Greaseband. 14th Annual University City 5K Run
Help support a worthy cause and take part in a Drexel tradition. The 14th Annual University City 5K Run benefiting the Nicholas P. Pipino Memorial Scholarship Fund will be held on May 6, 2006. The run starts at 11 a.m. and will begin and end at 32nd and Chestnut Streets. Your participation will help us raise the funds to offer $15,000 in scholarship money to Drexel students. Alumni Meet King Tut in Chicago

Take a step back into ancient Egypt to experience history like it has never been seen before-through the eyes of King Tut as the nationally acclaimed Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibit continues on it's 27-month U.S. tour. Take part in this adventure on Sunday, June 11 in Chicago. 5th Annual Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival
Build team work, spirit, and pride on Saturday, October 7, while paddling on Drexel’s Dragon Boat Team. The festival will be held from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on the Schuylkill River. Philadelphia Networking Luncheon Series
Throughout the winter and spring, the Alumni Club of Philadelphia have offered a series of luncheons with presentations from local business leaders chosen to help you learn how to best develop and strengthen your entrepreneurial skills. Pittsburgh at the Ballpark
Join us on April 28th, as the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Philadelphia Phillies at PNC Park. Catch us before the game at 6 p.m. for an alumni pre-game reception in Picnic Park, located inside the stadium along the Allegheny River. The reception will include hot dogs, nachos, cookies and beverages and each attendee will receive a free hat. The game begins at 7 p.m. with fireworks to follow. Northern California Alumni Cheer on the Home Team
Join alumni on Friday, July 14 at AT&T Park to watch the San Francisco Giants take on the Philadelphia Phillies. First pitch will be thrown at 7:15 p.m. Seats are located under the 3rd base overhang, Section 128. Catch us before the game at 5:30 p.m. for an alumni tailgate.
