Harriet Worrell 1909, 1915: The Woman Behind the Harriett Worrell Society
Harriet Worrell was a remarkable woman and a Drexel Dragon, through and through. Her love for Drexel was evident over the years through her commitment to the University, especially to its alumni. Harriet earned two degrees from what was then the Drexel Institute, in 1909 and 1915, and went on to serve as both an employee and a volunteer for the University and for its Alumni Association. >>
On Thursday, Dec. 5, the Alumni Association and the Harriet E. Worrell Society will host the 1st Annual Harriet E. Worrell Society Networking Reception and Program for Society members, current women student leaders and young alumnae. The evening will feature a talk titled "Finding Your Voice" from Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Benchmark Communications, Inc., Judith Glaser '69. Click here to register.

The One Month Countdown to the Alumni Holiday Turkey Project Begins Today!
There is exactly one month to go until the 40th Annual Alumni Holiday Turkey Project on Friday, Dec. 20! We can feel the excitement building with each day that passes and with every new donation we receive. Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach more than 40% of our $20,000 goal! We still have some work to do, so please consider making your gift to the Project if you have not already done so. This Drexel tradition raises money to purchase frozen turkeys for local families for the holidays, and has been doing so for the past four decades. Watch the video above for a personal message from some of the community organizations that have been impacted by the Turkey Project over the years.
You can also volunteer to join us at the Paul Peck Alumni Center on Friday, Dec. 20 to help distribute the turkeys to the community organizations and see first-hand the impact the Project has on the community. We hope to see you there! For more information, to make your gift and to register to help distribute turkeys, click here. >>

Meet Inga Arnopolin '12: The 12,000th Member of the Alumni Association's Networking Group on LinkedIn
Q: What do you do for a living?
I graduated from Drexel in June 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a minor in business administration. I currently live in Houston and I moved here in August 2012, after graduation. I work for DuPont where I am a process engineer for a unit that manufactures herbicides, within the crop protection business.
As a process engineer, I have basic responsibilities to maintain the smooth operation of the unit, and ensure that safety, environmental regulations, quality, and production are not compromised. This involves troubleshooting equipment failure, analyzing data to determine root causes of quality problems, maintaining yield calculations, updating and writing operating procedures. I have also led a process hazard analysis this year, which is a year-long assessment of the hazards in a given area. The good thing about my role is that it allows me to interact with people from all areas of plant life, including operators, mechanics, engineers, and management.
Q: What do you use LinkedIn for?
I use it to network, and find it to be a great tool, especially if you are looking for a job.
Q: Why did you decide to join the Alumni Association’s LinkedIn Group?
It’s a good way to stay in touch with fellow Drexel alumni. Hopefully it can help lead to professional opportunities in the future. If any alumni reading this want to connect with me on LinkedIn, please do.
Q: What’s something interesting about you that people might not know?
My family is Russian and I can speak it fluently!
Connect with Inga and thousands of other Drexel graduates by joining the Alumni Association Networking Group on LinkedIn! As a member, you'll have access to job postings, you'll be part of interesting discussions, and you'll have the opportunity to meet and connect with Drexel alumni on a global scale. >>
