Alumni Association News
Happy Holidays from the Drexel University Alumni Association!
The Drexel University Alumni Association would like to wish you a joyous holiday season and a very happy New Year. During the holiday break, the University will be closed from Monday, December 24, 2012 through Tuesday, January 1, 2013. All e-mails and voice messages left for the Office of Alumni Relations during that time will be checked daily, and urgent messages will be responded to in a timely manner.
Alumni Attitudinal Survey Update
In the fall of 2011, the Drexel University Alumni Association e-mailed an Alumni Attitudinal Survey to a random sample of 30,000 Drexel alumni. The purpose of the survey was to learn how graduates feel about their alumni experience, their student experience and about Drexel University in general. The Alumni Association Board of Governors has begun to, and will continue to analyze the data and feedback gleaned from the survey in order to identify new opportunities to connect and communicate with Drexel graduates as well as current students. The Alumni Association would like to thank those alumni who took the time to fill out the survey, and to share with us your extremely valued thoughts and opinions. In the upcoming months, you will learn how we are specifically applying your feedback to our best practices, in order to better serve you.

Everything I Need to Know I Learned at Drexel: 366 Drexel Life Lessons
With the year's end just days away, this is your last opportunity to share a Drexel life lesson. As of today we have enough life lessons to get us to December 21 — that's Friday! Help us reach our goal of sharing one lesson every day in 2012, and send us your life lesson today! We're so close; we only need 10 more! To submit your life lesson, visit the Year of the Dragon website, and while you're there, check out our archive of 319 life lessons already submitted by Drexel alumni! An Important Announcement for Drexel InCircle Users
When the Drexel University Alumni Association launched the inCircle social networking platform for Drexel alumni in 2005, the online tool was at the forefront of social networking technology. Over the past few years, we have seen a noticeable drop in activity on the site, as alumni have embraced other channels for building their professional and career networks of Drexel alumni and for connecting with their Drexel friends. Because of this, we have decided to close Drexel's inCircle site at the end of the year. The data contained in your inCircle profile will be destroyed on December 31, 2012. More
Accept the Alumni Scholarship Challenge!
The Drexel University Alumni Association Board of Governors will match all donations, dollar-for-dollar and up to $5,000, to the Alumni Association Scholarship Program if they are received by December 31, 2012! Scholarships are provided each year by the Alumni Association, recognizing legacy students and student leaders. We would like to invite you to join us in the challenge of raising $5,000 in donations, ensuring that we can provide at least $10,000 in new scholarship aid to Drexel students next year. This is a great way to give back in a way that will directly impact Drexel students, and to instantly double the impact of your gift! More

Mark Simakaski '94
and Nichole Wolfgang '95
It is the holiday season, a time filled with festive music, twinkling lights and the stress of shopping for that perfect gift. While you're out shopping for clothes, tasty treats and the latest iPad, did you ever consider giving your loved one a gift that, well, buzzes?
Mark Simakaski '94 wanted to get his wife Nichole Wolfgang '95 something special for Christmas in 1998. So what came to mind? Bees, naturally. The couple found themselves wanting another pet, their 15 year old dog having just passed away, and Nichole had a love for honey, so in Mark's mind, there was no better fit than thousands of bees.
